As part of the national urban renewal strategy, older buildings are being renovated at an unprecedented rate. Modernising outdated residential elevators, which may pose safety risks, is essential for maintaining safe urban environments and improving residents’ quality of life. Likewise, high-quality elevator maintenance services are crucial for ensuring long-term safety, allowing for timely detection and management of potential risks and supporting the overall reliability of the city’s building transportation systems.
E2 Forum China brings together leading enterprises and experts to discuss key topics including elevator maintenance, building operations and maintenance, elevator renovation, net-zero carbon certification of supertall skyscrapers, and vertical transportation solutions for industrial parks. The forum provides a focused platform for industry discussions, aiming to address key challenges and promote future growth.
Ms Lucia Wong, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, shared: "It is a privilege to have representatives from leading companies and renowned experts from the elevator and building operations and maintenance sectors at the E2 Forum China in Shenzhen. As the forum’s first event in South China, it not only carries the important task of advancing industry dialogue and development but also reflects our strong commitment to the region’s vertical transportation sector.”
She added: “We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the organisations that contributed their support. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, from elevator modernisation to operations management. We hope to inspire innovative ideas, foster cross-sector collaboration, and ultimately pave the way for greener, smarter, and more efficient urban environments.”
At the forum, Mr Zelin Guo, President of the Shenzhen Elevator Trade Association, delivered the opening address. He provided an overview of the association’s work and future ambitions, stating: "As a leader in scientific and technological innovation, Shenzhen's elevator industry is responding to the call for smart city development, exploring new ways to integrate elevator technologies with urban smart initiatives. I congratulate the forum on its success and look forward to deeper collaboration within the industry moving forward."
Mr Chengdan Peng, Director of National Elevator Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Guangdong) gave a keynote speech, remarking: "This forum presents forward-thinking, practical insights for the elevator industry in response to new economic development trends. It offers an upscale and professional platform for stakeholders inside and outside the industry to connect, providing valuable resources and strategies to drive innovation across the elevator, urban renovation, and building operations and maintenance management sectors. This promotes development in a more efficient, intelligent and sustainable direction."
Mr Wei Wang, Modernization Sales and Operations Director for Greater China at KONE, stated: "When renovating, completely replacing elevators is not always the most effective solution. By utilising big data and digital services, KONE can perform precise analysis, unnecessary replacements and reducing both the time and costs involved. Participating in this year’s E2 Forum China events in Shanghai and Shenzhen has been invaluable for professional learning and exchange, and this edition has been particularly effective at connecting industry partners and improving collaboration. I look forward to participating in future E2 Forum China events.”
Mr Saicong Luo, Technical R&D Manager at Midea Building Technology Elevator Company and a keynote speaker, highlighted: "Midea's passenger and freight elevator solution effectively addresses the demands for high transport volume and load-bearing, overcoming the challenges of the traditional mixed-use model by enabling separate passenger and cargo flows. Additionally, Winone Elevator offers flexible freight solutions with standardised processes to ensure efficient product delivery. This event has strengthened industry relationships, enhancing communication and cooperation while advancing growth for all involved."
Ms Danli Guo, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Elevator Trade Association shared her thoughts after the meeting: "Safety assessments, upgrades and renovation of ageing elevators, and elevator IoT are all important topics in the industry. The combination of supportive national policies, tailored renovation strategies and advanced elevator IoT solutions are all impressive, because these are practical measures that can be implemented to address challenges and drive growth.”
